Week 4A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

Image result for creating web design aesthetics

Potential Problems:
  • Content OVERLOAD!
  • Way too many links on their homepage.
  • No social media links.
  • Small fonts, large fonts, medium font, no consistency.
  • No empty space.
  • My eyes need a rest almost immediately.
This particular website made me gasp when it first popped on to my screen! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It had so much information and text on the very first page that it immediately made me not want to stick around. Finding the information that you are looking for would be like looking for a needle in a hays stack.

2. www.jamilin.com

Potential Problems:
  • Very busy home page
  • Lots of content, links, pictures
  • Social media links are in text only
  • Hard to find what you are looking for
  • Overwhelming
Much like Gates N Fences' website, Jamilin was also overwhelming at first glance. It had small font throughout the site which made it hard to take in all the information. The colors are bright and unattractive and even though they did have social media links at the top of the page, they were not easy to find. It would have been much better to you the familiar app link so that they stand out and are easily viewed. Without spending a lot of time reading through all the text, I'm not sure what it is that this lady does. She could have much better visuals to let you know right off the bat what it is that she is promoting.

3. www.apple.com

Done Right:
  • Large text and pictures for easy viewing
  • Great contrasting colors
  • Simple Design
I love the design of the Apple website. I appreciate the simple and sleek design, the large easy to read fonts, and the large attractive photos. Their brand is so well known for being ahead of the curve. I would have linked to see the social media links but was unable to find them on the homepage. It is easy to navigate through the pages to find what you are looking for.

4. www.headhunterhairstyling.com

Done Right:
  • Simple Design
  • Easy to find social media links
  • Nice soft colors
  • Easy to read text and contact info
Headhunter Hairstyling has a very attractive website. It is easy on the eyes with soft colors and easy to read fonts. The logo is displayed large which is great for clients to remember their brand. Although it was a pretty basic homepage, the page links were up on top for easy navigation around the website. The contact information was clearly listed at the bottom of the page which made finding it a breeze. I was happy to look around this website and based on their look, I was eager to click on their social media links to find more photos of their work.
